Kuchl Museum presents valuable pieces from the history of Kuchl and dedicates itself to impressive special exhibitions on a rotating 2-year basis.
The 2014|15 special exhibition "The Georgenberg" shifted the attention of research and the general public to this striking island mountain. Scientific documentation attests to human settlement here in the Bronze Age, though it is highly likely that people inhabited the area all the way back in the Neolithic. The current exhibition presents finds from the Georgenberg, while interested visitors also learn more about the search for the as-yet-to-be-discovered Roman road station known as "Cucullae".
For this special exhibition, Kuchl Museum was awarded the Golden Museum Key 2014.
The booklet which accompanies "The Georgenberg" exhibition provides added insights into archaeological projects focused on this mountain.
