The traditional farmers’ autumn festival parish fair is held on each year on the 2nd Sunday in September. Marktstrasse in Kuchl is transformed into a stage for lively festivities. Kuchl Heritage Society and the riding and whip-cracking group ensure a great atmosphere and fabulous food.

Many places in the state of Salzburg practice the custom of the maypole, and Kuchl is naturally no exception. The maypole is a thick spruce trunk, stripped of bark and branches. It is lovingly decorated with wreaths and ribbons. As part of the Kuchl maypole festival, people raise the tree high in the air with all their might. Afterwards, there is the traditional “maypole climbing”, in which children and adults pluck up their courage, show their skill and attempt to clamber up the tree. You can see and experience on 1 May each year, on the festival green in front of the Bürgerausee.
In October, the traditional pub quiz is held on the festival site on Fridays, and Kuchl’s Oktoberfest is celebrated with live music in the marquee on Saturdays.
The traditional Göll Cup of SV Raika Kuchl is held at the Bürgerausee Arena in June each year. Plenty of activities, food and drink are always laid on during the matches! People chatter over a barbecue, and afterwards, there is coffee and cake while the football stars of the future show off their skills on the pitch.
The highlight of Kuchl's carnival season is the night-time parade, held every 3 years. Over 20 groups from the Tennengau region, carnival guilds with marching bands from Bavaria, Salzburg and Upper Austria greet the visitors on Kuchl marketplace and the surrounding streets with their elaborate displays. After the parade, the celebrations carry on deep into the night at an aftershow party in numerous bars. The festivities are organised by the well-known Kuchl carnival guild Naracucula. This guild was founded in the 1970s, and pulls out all the stops in the carnival season, organising numerous dances, fancy-dress balls and carnival parades in Kuchl.
Hard rock music, great guitar sounds and lots of party people. The legendary rock party NO. 1 is held at the sports ground in Kuchl each year. Revellers dance to fantastic live rock music into the early hours.
On the 2nd Thursday after Pentecost, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of the body and blood of Christ: Corpus Christi. The focal point of the day is the sacrament of the Eucharist. After the service, the consecrated host - Jesus in the body of the Christ - in the monstrance is carried through the town and asked for its blessing. In Kuchl, many associations take part in Corpus Christi and make this day a very special one.
