THE LEONHARDSWEG

The Leonhardsweg in Kuchl

Salzburg is blessed with countless hiking trails that lead explorers through glorious meadows and forests, over striking mountains, gentle hills and past glittering lakes. Thousands of kilometres of these hiking routes are also historical pilgrim trails, including the Leonhardsweg, which runs from Salzburg Cathedral via Kuchl to Tamsweg. The Leonhardsweg is very well signposted, and you can reach Tamsweg in about 5 to 6 days. The daily stages can also be completed individually depending on time and physical fitness. It is a route that can provide tranquillity, relaxation, regeneration and focus. Along the trail, many people experience unique moments and encounters. The motives for embarking on the pilgrimage are personal for each individual, but afterwards, they should return to daily life feeling regenerated with balance and joy.
